CHARM OF THE TOWN

Wealth

OF THE PAST

Ząbkowice Śląskie is a small town situated in the Sudetes Foothills. Its rich past and convenient location attract visitors seeking peaceful rest away from the crowds of tourists. History and architecture enthusiasts are lured by the impressive ruins of the Renaissance castle, while nature lovers can enjoy the nearby bicycle paths and mountain hiking trails.

The Leaning

Tower

A must-see when visiting the town is its best-known landmark, namely the Leaning Tower. Although lower than its Italian counterpart, it is an equally remarkable sight, further emphasised by the perfect verticality of the tenement houses surrounding the structure.

Legends

AND MYSTERIES

Legends and mystery hunters are seeking links between Ząbkowice and the famous tale of the terrifying monster. Before the war, the town was called… Frankenstein. It is also known that in the old days there was a group of gravediggers who robbed cemeteries and opened graves. These chilling stories may have inspired Mary Shelley’s novel about a young student who wanted to bring to life a monster created from the bodies of the dead.
